I didn't even know that you wore glasses or contacts. I am sure you are glad you did it though... even though it hurt? Its like having braces. It sucks... but after its done your glad you did it.
I'm nervous about lasiks too. I know I would LOVE not having glasses or contacts, but tell me this: and be honest. Is it really worth it? How LONG did it hurt? Do you actually remember the pain? (you know, as in I-know-I-don't-like-throwing-up-but-I-sometimes-forget-how-bad-it-really-is)
Anne- Very good quetions. I had the lasik back in April 08. I had to have PRK(or is it PKR?) and that just has a longer recovery time because they have to burn off the whole cornea. I refused the valium they offered me, and I didn't fill the percoset perscription... so basically I just had ibuprofen for the pain. My eyes hurt for a few weeks, and they were sensative to bright light for a year. Not blinding pain or anything, just sensative. I will tell you it IS worth it. I love my bionic eyes. I don't have to worry about my contacts when I travel and my eyes aren't irritated all the time. It is great.
I had lasik too! I love it! I had adjustments for one year included in my "package." The year was almost up and I was sure that my vision was starting to blur, so I went in to be checked. The Doc said I should be in their lasik hall of fame (no, they do not really have one) because my vision was 20/10. So why the blurry vision...still needed eye drops one year later...To this day, I always have them in the house! Godd luck!

I never asked him about the pain, but I know he loves not having to wear glasses.
Congratulations on your newfound vision!
