Tales From The Supermarket Pt. 3

Occasionally I care about the environment. Not all the time and not consistently, but I am a conservationist so every now and again I think of what I can do to make the world a better place. I also hate the plastic bags they give you at the grocery store. These two thoughts combined into a brilliant plan... I would purchase a few eco safe bags and problem solved! Right?
Wrong. Oh, I bought the bags and they are great... so great that I have never actually taken them with me when I go grocery shopping, and it has been over a month. For a while they lived in my pantry. Then, at the suggestion of a kindly Beardocrat, I moved them to the car in the hopes that I would actually remember to use them. I haven't been shopping since they actually made their way to the car. Here is hoping that one day, these bags will actually see the inside of the supermarket.

Funny... I actually like the plastic bags because I use them as liner for my trash cans. But I am all for people wanting to help the environment... and sometimes I do a think or two to contribute.

I have the same problem.
I put them in front of my door in hopes that I'd remember to use them. That didn't work. So far, they've only been used to take things to primary when I substitute teach.

I have 5 or 6 of those bags and I use them all the time...just not for groceries! What is wrong with me?!

These always look like a great idea, but I can't get myself motivated to buy them because I know they will just sit in my closet.

That, and I still laugh when I think of Tina Fey's original Sarah Palin impression on Saturday Night Live:

Hillary Clinton: I believe global warming is caused by man ...
Sarah Palin: And I believe it's just God huggin' us closer.

Don't give up. it took me 6 months to remember to take them from the car to the store I would punish myself and not let them bag anything, just chuck it back in the cart and then I had to bag them at the car...I learned quick then. GOOD LUCK they are great for carrying winter gear to the ski slope, food to the deep freeze in garage and oh so many other fine jobs

I'm not into it. Until Utah actually starts a recycling program (as a californian I still cry evertime I throw plastic/cans in the trash) I'm going to act like everyone else and pretend I don't care.
