Not a Mommy Blog, but...

At the tender of of 31, I have become a parent and this fact bears mentioning. I call the little guy "Squirmy" for obvious reasons and he weighed in at 7 lbs 11 ounces and despite no indication of above average height in my or the Beardocrat's genetics, he was an impressive 21.5 inches when he arrived.

Quote of the week:
Well, hello Squirmy, you're looking very Darth Vader without a helmet today, aren't you?

When you feel like yourself again...wait. When you have 5 minutes to yourself.... Um, well, when you can, please email me a real photo of the little guy!!!

Congratulations! Even though I don't know you, I'm still going to pass on the advise my mom gave all her daughters and daughters-in-law.

There are two things you must never do until you are ready for everyone to assume you are fully functional and back to normal: let them see you standing and let them see you dressed.

My mom always said if you are dressed and walking around when someone comes to the door, go put on a nightgown and lay down on the couch.

Otherwise, they will assume you are back and ready to take on the world again.

I know this may be a little late, but I second Nathan's advice. And don't be afraid to stay home from church for a few weeks (or months--it is RSV season afterall!)

Congratulations, again! :)
